Founded in 2019, Biz in English is a woman-owned and veteran-owned language accessibility consultancy which specializes in facilitating public outreach communication to linguistically and culturally diverse communities and currently does business within the States of California and New York.
Diverse language projects include technical writing, on-demand, short-term and long-term staffing support for foreign language written translation and spoken interpretation (in-person, over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), or video remote interpretation (VRI)), American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, braille transcription and embossing, English-language business writing (copy writing, editing, workshop/meeting notetaking, business plans, resumes), foreign language typesetting and desktop publishing, market research, trade show support, and associated project management.
The following features are part of what makes us unique:
- We have experience living, working and doing business internationally in foreign language immersion environments and therefore empathize with the communication and sociocultural challenges of non-native speakers of English living in the United States
- We provide on-demand, short-term and long-term professional staffing support for interpretation projects of all sizes and complexities, whether in-person, virtual (VRI) or over the phone (OPI)
- We engage only United States-based translation professionals for United States-based projects, unlike many language companies who risk quality by outsourcing translation work overseas
- We offer United States relocation, employment assistance and cultural support services to expatriates and refugees
- We develop business partnerships and collaborations with other language services companies to best support client project requirements
- We invest in the United States economy by supporting United States language industry micro-businesses which are largely woman and immigrant-owned
- We understand that language accessibility matters and facilitate dissemination of important information to linguistically and culturally diverse populations within the United States
- We hire and train veterans and service-disabled veterans
- We are multi-certified to meet federal, state and local small business procurement goals
- We maintain membership in influential industry organizations to include the American Translators Association (ATA) and the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
